BootyNet is splashing into the maritime industry with BootyCruise™, its new cruise line subsidiary, and it’s bringing the internet with it.
Fair Seas. Fair Speeds. Fair Use.
WHANGANUI, NEW ZEALAND — BootyNet, the connectivity provider committed to delivering transparent, equitable, and fairly-priced internet access, today announced the formation of BootyCruise™, a wholly-owned cruise line subsidiary operating under the BootyNet Fair Seas Initiative™.
The announcement marks BootyNet’s first expansion beyond terrestrial connectivity infrastructure, and represents what the company describes as “the next logical step in our mission to connect people regardless of whether they are currently on land.”
Powered by BootySat™
Central to the BootyCruise™ experience is its connectivity stack, which will leverage BootyNet’s proprietary BootySat™ low-Earth orbit satellite constellation to deliver continuous broadband coverage across all vessel operating zones. Each BootyCruise™ ship will function as a fully mobile BootyNet Point of Presence, broadcasting the complete range of BootyNet connectivity products to passengers and crew throughout the voyage.
Guests will have access to BootyNet Wi-Fi™ across all decks, 6G cellular coverage via BootySat™ downlink, and seamless onboarding to BootyNet Mobile Roaming™ upon embarkation. Connectivity packages will be available at competitive rates and are subject to BootyNet’s standard Fair Use Policy™, which applies per nautical mile in international waters.
“We have always believed that great internet should follow you wherever you go,” said a BootyNet spokesperson. “With BootyCruise™, it will. Even if you are on a boat.”
The Fair Seas Initiative™
BootyCruise™ operates under BootyNet’s newly established Fair Seas Initiative™, a framework the company says ensures “equitable access to onboard amenities, dining, and bandwidth for all passengers, within their selected tier.”
Cabin categories will mirror BootyNet’s existing residential plan structure. BootyBasic Berth passengers will enjoy interior accommodation and standard connectivity, while BootyPlus Stateroom and BootyUltra Suite guests receive prioritised bandwidth allocation, enhanced QoS routing, and access to the BootyLounge™ deck. All tiers include complimentary access to the BootyNet status page.
Dining arrangements are governed by the Fair Dining Policy™. Passengers who exceed three meals per day for five or more consecutive days may be transitioned to a managed appetiser experience at BootyNet’s discretion.
BootyLabs™ Research Backing
The maritime connectivity architecture underpinning BootyCruise™ was developed in collaboration with BootyLabs™, BootyNet’s independent research division. A full technical report detailing the satellite-to-vessel downlink topology, oceanic mesh routing protocols, and BootyNet’s approach to last-mile delivery, defined by BootyLabs™ researchers as “the gangplank and approximately twelve metres of dock,” is expected to be published following the completion of peer review.
